White Orchid

I actually found this in the wild and shot it with my cell phone. Well, the wild around here was at Safeway. :-) The cell phone part is true! I love orchids. Too bad I don't have what it takes to grow them.

Just Yellow

Not sure what this is but I like the solitude of this very small flower. Serenely sitting there.....

Forrest Trillium

I love Trillium flowers. Very short lived and a little hard to find. They start out white and then pinkish, like this one, as they age. I think I got this one right! :-)

Off The Page

I love Crocus. They are the first flower of the season and I'm compelled to photograph them every year. But, how many of the same images of a Crocus do I need to post every year. Hence the edit. I had seen this before and decided to give it a shot and I really like it. The actual image of the flowers are largely untouched, just the perimeter modified.

Fox Glove in the Fall

Walking up a service road to a small lake for a little fishing & photo time this past fall. Too dreary for fish to be biting but the flowers were awesome!

How I wish it were Spring

This was absolutely one of my favorite shots this past spring of the Oregon State Capitol cherry trees. It was incredible!

Help Me!

This was an easy one to capture because he couldn't get out! I heard the buzzing of wings and had a look, took a photo. I'm sure he made it out okay though......

Weeds are flowers too

This is one of the ugly weed flowers at the Oregon coast. I don't know what it is called, but it looks much better back-lit than in real life.

Flower?

I was taking a photo of a very small mushroom and near by was this even smaller flower in the weeds. Incredibly small and hardly noticed in my yard,. I thought it deserved a photo for hiding out so well.

Oregon Summer

If I were in the SA right now, this might be what is expected: Rain. Here in Oregon however, this summer is rain with a few sun breaks. Kind of a lame summer, weather wise, though everything is quite green!

Been bad about posting this past week because of Google+. Been hanging over there. It can take care of and replace a blog in many ways. Potential for comments & feedback is tremendous. You can still have loyal followers and subscribe to follow others through circles. If anyone does not have and would like an invite to Google+, let me know! I will need your email address and I request you put me in a circle & I'll do the same. :-)

Do not pick the flowers. DON'T!

Next to all these lovely little pink flowers was a wasp keeping watch over passers by, insuring no one goes home with a flower that didn't belong to them. Ok, not true. I believe he was hanging out and drinking water until I shoved my lens into his face and scared him away. :-)

Bottom's Up

Another from the tulip fields that are in full bloom. So again I grabbed my fisheye lens and my wireless trigger and headed for the bottom of the tulip beds. Not sure this exactly what I expected, but I sure did see a lot of people copying what I did. :-) I think it warrants a revisit for sure. Oh, Happy Easter!

Blooming Flowers!

A couple recent flower images. Using the fisheye, the tulip is great against the blue sky. (It was a miracle that there was a blue sky!) William in the daffodils was just for fun. :-)

There are so many of these guys this time of year but I shot a pic and I like it any way. :-)

White Crocus

Not really a "white crocus" but you get the idea. It was a lovely dusting of snow the other day. We only see snow once every other year and it is a treat. (Not to those who endure it for months every year, I know.)

Crocus are up

I noticed these little guys up and reaching for the spring. I'll grab more shots when the darker purple rise up. As a side note, this is another shot from my fisheye lens at 10mm. (I love this lens!) The camera was flat on the ground and about 2 inches from the flowers. I did not expect to get this sort of close-up capability from this lens. Cool perspective too!

Last of the Giants

Granted, these are smaller blooms, but these guys were towering over me at around 7 feet or so. The very large blooms had mostly lost their petals and are going to seed. Fall is a little early around here this year, so far being the wettest September in the past ten years. (An inch of rain yesterday! That's not normal for here.)
