I Only Have Ears For You
From the Albany Carousel project. Completed rabbit, a horse in progress, a squirrel (only a few inches long) for a detail on a larger piece and the platform under construction. Very cool place to visit.

Weddle Bridge
Originally built in 1937 and spanned Thomas Creek. Dismantled in 1987 when overloaded by a truck and reconstructed in Sweet Home in 1990 over Ames Creek.
Yellow you say? Why yes, yes it is. Today is field burning day for the grass seed industry and everything is yellow-orange.
I hope the covered bridge series was something worth seeing. There are more here in Oregon but the next nearest is quite a drive. But next time I am in that area.........

Stayton-Jordan Bridge
Originally, the Jordan Bridge, built in 1937 spanning Thomas Creek. It was relocated here to Stayton in 1985. The Jordan bridge was destroyed by arson in 1994 and rebuilt from scratch in 1998. All work was done in only 18 weeks. The bridge was then renamed for the city, the Stayton-Jordan Bridge.
I Need Your Help!
Yes, a picture will be coming later today but I need some feedback from EVERYONE! What are your favorite photos ever posted on my blog? I am going to put a couple photos in a contest (4C's Best of the Northwest) and want to know what you think I should enter. I am not always a good judge of my own work and deeply appreciate you help. Thanks!!

Larwood Bridge
2 lanes, built in 1939 and spans Crabtree Creek. This is the last of the bridges in use in this area.

Hoffman Bridge
1 lane, built in 1936 and spans Crabtree Creek. I did take a photo of Hoffman in May (click here to see) so I am doing something a little different than with the other bridges in this series.
If you look close you can see the rope the kids use to swing out into the water with. (Remember those?) Also, 1000 *BONUS POINTS* if you know what I did to this in Photoshop. :-)

Shimanek Bridge
2 lanes, built in 1966 and spans Thomas Creek. The only red bridge around here & very dark inside. I guess because it is so "new".

Gilkey Bridge
Today I'll start a series of covered bridges that are local to my area. There are 5 that are still in use and 2 in parks within 15 miles of my house. One will be a repeat from a post a couple months ago. This is the first, Gilkey bridge. One lane, built in 1939 that had some rework done recently. A truck driver forgot to lower his manlift bucket and ripped this end of the bridge off. It is best illuminated in the night while most others are morning bridges. There are a couple that don't have good light except on overcast days so I'll make due.

William on the Move
Playing with movement at dusk again. Fun stuff! All in camera, no photoshop, about half to 1 second exposure for each.
Add in a little camera twist (half second).
With the help of Mocha (right) & Roc (left), our Labs.
And the moon.......(Thanks for the help Kelly, 1.4x + 2x)

Quest for i-phone
A message from William to Leo Laporte
Update: No iPhone for me. :-( BUT Leo did play the video on TwiT.tv to an audience of over 3500 people. Cool!

Veteran's Memorial Revisited
The last of my documentary here. It looks great, the refinished cannons look great and there is an awesome new bench that I'll get a shot of one morning. A job well done and an asset to the town.
