HighRise

An interesting grab shot while driving in the city. My wife was driving and I was clicking. This was my favorite.

Branch on the Beach

A few people have commented that they like this image but I'm not sure. It is a nice branch with great detail and contrast. I must admit that posting sepia adds a little to it too. Comments?

Sepia-IR of Newport Bay, Oregon

From near the main boat launch site where all the fishermen launch from. Just another experimental infrared shot that I applied a high contrast/white vignette to. It has a place in the wold, I'm sure. :-)

Huffman Covered Bridge

I truly love this image. When I look at it I think of a classic movie and their embellished sets like the Wizard Of Oz. I'm really glad I stopped on the way in to school the other day. Some may say the brightness of the sky in the right side is a distraction, but I like it.

Nope

I went to the small town of Brownsville, Oregon specifically to get a door picture. There was a motorcycle/concert event to support fallen troops in Iraq that took my interest instead. I did get this little shot door though. I really like the "Nope" sign in the door instead of the boring closed. :-) (I was really torn between the sepia version and the HDR color version. Let me know what you think. mouse over)

Looking for Northern Lights

And this is what I found. An awesome moon rise instead! I have many moon shots but when you have the camera out and ready, how could I resist? As far as the Northern Lights go, there was a potential of seeing them where I live. I gave up at 2am. Interestingly though, I did get a shot of Jupiter and the 4 big moons. Really surprised me!

A Day at the River

Taken on a recent bike ride in Salem, OR to the Willamette River.

I went for a 16X9 format on this just to see how it looks, and I like it. But after posting, I decided to crop a little more. (Mouse over to see original post. Mouse over tutorial on right.) Is the crop better?

Big Green

You can mouse over to see the out of camera version and while OOC is not bad, I prefer the sepia version. I think monochrome adds to the overpowering impact and the grain adds a little nostalgia.

Distant Light

There is some major restoration going on to a local spur. In fact this switch was not here a couple months ago. You can see the work engine light in the distance.
