In the Wild

I have always loved these little flowers, but still do not know their name. (I have a book, too lazy to find it.) It had rained earlier this morning and there is still a drop of water lingering. A bumble bee was fluttering about too but I did not have the luck to get him in frame.

Visit Today's Flowers for more blooms!

Visit Macro Monday for more close up photos!

I like the way the pink in the flowers complements the pink of the stem - and that single drop of water is beautiful!

I can't see the leaves very well, but if they are evergreen then these are possibly salal. We have them all over here, and they end up with blackish berries later on in the summer.

Sometimes we don't need to know the name but just enjoy the beauty of the flower, and yours is most definitely very beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

The water droplet makes the photo, in my opinion!! I love the gradation of colour along the stem, from the oldest blossoms to the buds!!
