Last of the Giants

Granted, these are smaller blooms, but these guys were towering over me at around 7 feet or so. The very large blooms had mostly lost their petals and are going to seed. Fall is a little early around here this year, so far being the wettest September in the past ten years. (An inch of rain yesterday! That's not normal for here.)

Do you stake these or just strong stems? I like how they cluster the blooms.

Beautiful flowers! Unfortunately I did not get out to photograph sunflowers this summer. Gotta get that on my list for next summer.

It felt like Spring came around early our way, so the seasons swopped places. The only difference is that we are desperately needing the rain.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting on my today's flower photo.

And yes, I'm a Pentax user too! Which cameras do you use?

Well, even though there has been a lot of rain the fantastic colours of the sun flowers are cheering me up.

This is very beautiful-I like the green at the top left-and on the opposite side.
