i do not know either what they are called but they really are so delicately pretty....

i, personally, will named them teardrops...until someone comes out with the proper name, that is..lol!

i am teaching myself to take photograph of flowers in a lighter background instead of a darker ones i sooo love, but i failed several times. these makes me want to give it a try some more!!!

They are salal blossoms. The beautiful and evergreen plants are all over the Pacific Northwest - by the end of July they will have round black berries that the Native Americans used as an important part of their diet.

I have tried to capture the beauty of their flowers, but never as well as this.

Those are the flowers from a Salal plant, very common in our forests. Sometimes the leaves are included in flower bouquets. Nice shot too.
