Greenhouse Test (1)
A few of a test using my new lens. I like it so far! :-)
I may not be posting here as often as I should because I am working on another project and posting images on my Cabaret Blog. Please come over and have a look!

Riding on a Bridge
Tried to (photoshop) manipulate depth of field to give the image the look of being a miniature. Kind of worked......

Testing, 1...2...3...
Well, I sold my walk around workhorse lens, a Sigma 17-70. Great lens but the aperture varied from f2.8 to f4.5 when zooming and it bugged me because I always had to reset my shutter speed. I received my replacement and these are a couple of the test shots of my willing model. I purchased a Sigma 24-60 f2.8 constant aperture. Now I can zoom and know my exposure is not going to change one bit! I fear that I'll miss the 17 to 24mm range but playing around the house it is plenty wide. It is also very sharp and contrasty! Time to go out in the day and do more testing....... :=)

Late for Class
"More black & white" you exclaim!? Yes! No, not a change of hart here, but a short trend that will continue for a few more days. (I hope you can survive my MonochromeMadness!)
This is not a conversion and that is not noise. This is actual black & white *F*I*L*M* with grain. Remember that? I shot a roll this week to exercise an old camera with my 16mm fisheye lens. This shot taken where I teach looking between floors. The decorations are etched glass with slogans hanging from above and illuminated with colored lights. Pretty cool really. The scary thing with film is you never know what you got until you see the prints much later!

The Plaids
Back stage of the play Forever Plaid at the Albany Community Theater. A cute play about a musical group that almost made it. :-) Group cheer, thespian make-up and pre-show concentration.
Old Days
Seldom used and nearly forgotten silo, feed area & barn. I bet they were proud when it was new.....
Another version of this will appear tomorrow (1/12/9) at my monochrome blog

4th Birthday: Blowing out of the Candle
Captured with the point & shoot at the peak of the "blow out". We had a fun evening.
What did he get you ask? A new bike and p&s camera!

The Bridge
The last of the Newport bay bridge. A 4 image HDR. I wanted the sun and the grass to be visible so I bracketed accordingly for photoshop.

Cape Lookout
This is an interesting geological formation from 15-20 million years ago. Lava seeped up through a crack in the earth's crust. The peninsula extends straight out from the coast line about a mile.
