The American Bald Eagle, the perfect fit for today. I was actually talking to a kid about her yellow lab and this eagle swooped down from above the tree we were under, talons extended, going for a fish. He missed the fish, I missed the shot, but I did get this. Settings were wrong as I was photographing frogs. However, I think this a very fitting photo for the day. Happy Independence Day to everyone.

Summer Storm

This was a huge storm that I only photographed the end of. It lasted a few hours though. About 20 min after I went to bed, having taken this picture, the rains hit us! Hard too!! Mossyrock, WA in the foreground.

I added some grain to this & darkened the edges as well as making it B&W. Is putting grain *in* that good or bad? I added grain yesterday too. (All this technology to get away from any image imperfections and I do this.) I guess it takes me back to my Tri-X film and newspaper days more than 30 years ago. (YIKES!!!)

Story Time (7 images): Veteran's Monument

On my walk today with the kids, we saw these volunteers working hard in the warmth of the day putting together the memorial here in Scio. It is to be done by the 4th of July. It looks very cool. I wish I had the time or skills needed to help but I have neither. Good job guys!

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose

Some day soon I am going to have to leave the yard to get a photo for the day. So far, however, I am doing fine. Perhaps tomorrow I'll venture out.

William's Ride

He loves his new car. Got it free at a grage sale a few weeks ago, rebuilt the switches, cleaned mud out of the gearboxes and motors, put a battery in it and it works! He figured out how to go backwards yesterday. I took these while waiting for a good bird photo (below) which never happened. I'll take William instead. :-)

30 second exposure

I was woke up by "Potty Hounds" (dogs had to go out) at 1:40am and noticed the fog and could not resist. I'm up for a half hour in the middle of the night but hey, I have my photo for the day!
