Story Time (7 images): Veteran's Monument

On my walk today with the kids, we saw these volunteers working hard in the warmth of the day putting together the memorial here in Scio. It is to be done by the 4th of July. It looks very cool. I wish I had the time or skills needed to help but I have neither. Good job guys!

Perry,

Thank you for posting these pictures. The young man in the baseball cap is an Iraqi Vet (USMC) that came all the way from Vancouver to volunteer with this project. I can not tell you the countless hours so many people have donated. There have been numerous businesses that have donated and the entire community of Scio is embracing this project. The dedication, complete with full military honor guard, F15flyover and a host of powerful presentations, is scheduled for July 4th at 11:00 am. This is an unbelievable effort on the part of many men and women to honor our veterans in the Scio area, past, present and future.
