Blossom

It is time for a few cherry/apple blossoms. For starters, I believe this is some sort of apple. Perhaps cherry tomorrow.........

I needed to show a support tech a problem we are having with our 3D printer at school. Parts are coming loose during the print process and become damaged. Shown below is a macro of one of the problem areas.

Hawks Win!

Here is one of the Hawks going for the puck controlled by a Spokane player. Great game, overtime and sudden death shoot off. Best game of the year and the last of the year. Hopefully next year will be better.

It is a miserable, wet, gray day. Not the kind of day I would want if I were a camel! But I saw one and I *needed* its picture.........

Eastern Mountains, Morning Perspective

On the way in this morning, another view of the mountains in the pano from a couple days ago. I love the light on the clouds. I had to wait a minute to get this. When I saw this there was a thin line of light streaking across the top but by the time I got stopped it was gone. This works too. :-)

Photos today were lame so I applied some artistic filters and got this. It is an improvement, but still could be better. (It a dandelion with a green ladybug on the right.)

Barn in Morning Light

I saw this with the dark fog behind in the sunrise so I stopped. I like how the barn pops out from the background. I did edit, tweaking curves, saturation, etc. in the Gimp.

I snagged a photo of this before Cyndy took it away to her office. Very hard to photograph because it is such a vibrant red.

It is a pretty flower from Safeway, though it has folded leaves. I have already been accused of getting these for taking its picture but not true! Only 9 minutes left and nothing better (truly) to photograph! :-)

The Herons Have Arrived

It is nesting time for the Great Blue Heron and there is a nesting area on my way in to school. This is hand held but I am going to continue to try and get something from the tripod and better quality.

An old silo that has gone unused for many years. I have always thought this would be interesting. Perhaps better lighting........

Five Droplets

Can you guess what this is or how big the water droplets are? This is an extreme close-up of a rose petal with 5 droplets of water the size of a pin head and smaller. I was checking out some new stuff.  :-)


For the technically inclined, 2X converter, 24mm extension tube, 50mm lens, +4, +2 & +1 macro filters, all in that order. It is about 2:1 magnification.

William Discovers "Down Hill" on his Bike

Technically, this is 11 images. But I combined them into one gif, so it is fine. If you look close he takes his feet off the pedals and flies down this driveway. Also note his tongue. Fun for sure.

Thirty cameras & a bunch of lenses. More than I would have liked are not working, but that is part of the risk. This Nikon is nice though......

Little birdie

This was taken this morning (400mm). I think this bird will be moving in. He was flying back and forth for quite a while between the house and a couple trees. Once, and I missed the shot, his mate was with him.

William got to pilot his first boat solo today. It was a bit choppy, waves crashing over the bow. But he made it to port.

Deer in the woods

Rolled up on these (three total, one not shown) this morning after they had woke but not yet got up. First time I had seen a deer in bed! This is the only shot I could get as it was only dawn, slow lens and hand held. Oh well. the fun was in seeing them!
