Launching William

He discovered jumping from a swing this month. :-)

Tried to make this look as old as possible by adding heavy vignette and grain (noise) as well as boost the contrast. Monochrome just does not feel correct without some grain, digital is too clean. I guess that comes from newspaper work in college and the tons of film I have burnt through over the years.

Tribute

This canon in a park, a tribute to our lost in WWII. Just a couple from this interesting big gun.

Harsh Reality

Not always can we simply post pretty pictures. Sometimes something in stark contrast catches my eye, and here it is. It is not a bad thing. I tell William that when something dies it is food for something else, as is the case here. Death renews life. A seagull is a pretty bird and amazingly graceful. Many simply see them as scavengers, rats of the sky. I'd like to see them for what they are.

Deer in the woods

Rolled up on these (three total, one not shown) this morning after they had woke but not yet got up. First time I had seen a deer in bed! This is the only shot I could get as it was only dawn, slow lens and hand held. Oh well. the fun was in seeing them!
