Hello Perry! Thanks for visiting my site. You asked me what time I took my in flight geese/goose shots.

They were taken between 5:40 and 6PM.
With the sun at my back. Method: panning. Shutter speed 1/1600

Re: your photos
The focus is soft. Whether that was by design or not is something a photographer knows what s/he is trying to achieve.

Looking at some of your other floral posts. They tend to be soft in focus. Tack sharp photos if it is your goal would mean you have some practice a head of you. Place some items on a table and focus on one. If you don't already shoot in manual mode, give it a try. Meaning use it and try different settings. Use different shutter speeds and Aperture settings.
