Moon-rise over the Valley

Loving Lunar images as I do, I can never resist a good moonrise. The colors were a little odd, so I pumped them up a bit. Also, this is a 3 image HDR so I can capture detail in the foreground as well as the moon. There were blackberries right next to where I took this image and they were quite good. :-)

Orange in the Sky

Can you guess what this is taken of above our car? Trees! I was playing around with my Q and fisheye and this is what I got. I was totally surprised and love it.

House Finch

These house finches were in the grass picking the sunflower seed spill-over from above. Just caught this little guy just in the right light. The image is a tad soft too. I'm still trying to find the "sweet spot" in my technique for this lens.

White Orchid

I actually found this in the wild and shot it with my cell phone. Well, the wild around here was at Safeway. :-) The cell phone part is true! I love orchids. Too bad I don't have what it takes to grow them.

Just the Sky

Not spectacular, but I was playing with my Q and fisheye lens when my wife was driving us home. The sunset was great, as they all are, and I couldn't resist. Just a sunset over a field, true, but don't we live for these. :-)

Crabbing

Crabbing off the fishing pier at Newport is Katen, my niece. She is all tomboy: not scared of any crab, bug or snake, carries a knife and owns a gun. (It is safely in a safe.) Quite the little trooper!

Another Perspective

I really liked the perspective of the fisheye lens on the Q of this bridge. And, of course, the setting sun. I'm under the Newport bay bridge in Oregon. It was a great visit a couple weeks ago. Always a favorite of mine.

For the Flies

I really do enjoy my little Pentax Q camera and am constantly amazed. I have attached my 90mm macro to it and got these of a common fly. Great working distance and quality. These are full frame, not cropped in any way. I like it!
