Taken from a new vantage point for me, on the fishing pier near the center of the channel just to the east of the bridge. A whole bunch of people out here fishing and crabbing, then there is me with my tripod and camera. :-) I saw earlier in the week the moon following the sun down and estimated that I could get this shot the next day. Didn't see the sun for the next 3 days, but the fog gave way for this photo. The moon is not following as closely now though, so no sun & moon in the same shot. A moon shot will follow soon however. We froze for a half hour waiting for the moon..... :-)
This is an HDR image with a good amount of saturation and vibrancy. The seagull, however, is natural. :-)

well if I had snapped that glow on the water as you have, I'd be pretty darn happy about it. this is glorious.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photograph! I'm looking forward to seeing your moon photograph from this location. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWow, perfect composition! Very pretty. I was just reading about using hdr for sunsets and, silly me, had never thought of that before.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Midweek Blues. Love the golden glow of the setting son on the water...great capture.

Superb shot. Sunrise and sunsets are always a winner if you have an interesting object in it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition!!
ReplyDeleteThat's really a stunning shot. I love the lines of the bridge too.
ReplyDeletebreathtaking!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness this is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo. My husband and I honeymooned in Newport in 1995 but didn't manage to get any really good shots of the bridge. I know this site isn't supposed to be for commercial ventures, but is there some way we can work something out?
ReplyDelete@Amy: Yes, we can work something out. Send me an email. carmicp at {gmail} [dot com]
